A man from Hamilton has admitted to drugging and sexually assaulting two additional women, with the disturbing act of recording and sharing his crimes online. Bryan Hayward, aged 37, had previously pleaded guilty to charges involving seven other women earlier in June. Initially set for a trial, Hayward changed his plea to guilty at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 4, eliminating the need for a trial process, according to Crown lawyer Kelli Frew.
Justice Michael Wendl, who presided over the case, is yet to pass Hayward’s sentence. The Crown is seeking a designation of dangerous offender for Hayward, which could result in his indefinite incarceration, pending a separate hearing for determination.
The legal proceedings stem from Hayward’s arrest by Hamilton police in May 2025 in connection with a series of alleged assaults, following an investigation by W5 into a group of men involved in secretly drugging and recording their partners. In a separate incident in June, Hayward pleaded guilty to charges related to the assault of seven women, admitting to drugging and assaulting them as far back as 2018.
Under a pseudonym associated with a date-rape drug, Hayward uploaded numerous videos on the Motherless website, with his account garnering approximately 144,000 views. The identities of the victims remain protected under standard publication restrictions.
During the court session on September 4, Frew presented a new agreed statement of facts detailing Hayward’s sexual assault on two women. The first woman, who met Hayward online in 2022 and engaged in a relationship with him, discovered that he was sharing videos of unconscious women in a chat group. Hayward disclosed his somnophilia—a sexual preference for sleeping or unconscious individuals—to her and, disturbingly, she agreed to let him engage in sexual acts with her while she was unconscious. Upon viewing a recorded video, she realized that Hayward had administered a substance to her without her consent, leading to distressing revelations.
The second woman reconnected with Hayward in 2023, consumed drugs with him, and later woke up to find that she had missed picking up her daughter due to being drugged with gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB) without her knowledge. Her family reported her missing, and she was eventually located at Hayward’s residence in downtown Hamilton. Further investigations revealed images of her being assaulted while unconscious, with Hayward confessing to drugging three other women with similar methods.
In May 2025, police discovered various drugs and substances, including chloroform, methamphetamine, ketamine, and benzodiazepines, at Hayward’s mother’s residence. Hayward had also provided guidance to other men online on drugging and assaulting women, highlighting the dangerous nature of the substances involved.
Hayward also faces charges in Alberta, where he has been accused of sexual assault dating back to 2015. His upcoming court appearance in Hamilton on October 6 will address the scheduling of his dangerous offender hearing. Gilles Richard, another individual from Hamilton, has been charged with similar offenses, with his court appearance set for September 22.
