The show features CFL player Brady Oliveira and real estate agent Alex Blumberg, a dynamic Canadian duo who not only excel in their professional lives but also share a passion for rescuing stray dogs. In a race against time before winter sets in, they traverse Manitoba to save as many dogs as possible.
The origins of this show are quite unexpected. During a rescue mission in La Paz, Mexico, a few years ago, Oliveira and Blumberg encountered TV producers while caring for a malnourished dog they had rescued. Their simple act of kindness caught the producers’ attention, leading to the realization that their story could make for compelling television.
John Hall, one of the producers, played a pivotal role in bringing “Must Love Dogs” to life through Omnifilm Entertainment, a Vancouver-based production company. The 10-episode series, premiering on CBC Gem, showcases the couple’s hectic yet heartwarming life as they balance demanding careers with their commitment to dog rescue.
