Ethan Katzberg, the reigning Olympic and world champion in men’s hammer throw from Nanaimo, B.C., faced a setback in the final round of the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, Hungary. Katzberg, 24, began the competition on Friday with two consecutive no throws, which led to his elimination from the final after the initial rounds. In this four-round event, only the top six contestants are granted an additional attempt after two initial tries. Despite his impressive track record of seven consecutive victories since August last year, Katzberg will conclude this event at the bottom of the rankings.
