The post accompanying the video states that the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti has been terminated, and individuals with terminated TPS status in the U.S. are urged to leave immediately or face deportation.
TPS is a designation in the U.S. that allows foreign nationals to reside and work in the country without the risk of deportation when conditions in their home countries are deemed hazardous. Despite concerns raised by legal experts and human rights advocates about the precarious situation in Haiti due to deadly gang violence and instability, the U.S. Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration’s decision to cancel TPS for Haitians. This decision affects over 300,000 Haitians living in the U.S. and went into effect in late July.
The decision to terminate TPS for Haitian families has drawn criticism, with the Florida Democratic Party denouncing the DHS video as an act of depravity disguised as policy. Democratic Representative Yassamin Ansari also condemned the move, labeling it as one of the worst actions by the Trump administration amid a series of controversial decisions.

On a recent deportation flight to Cap Haitien, a coastal city in northern Haiti, approximately 57 deportees arrived, including children, including a three-year-old born in the U.S. The Haitian Bridge Alliance, an organization supporting Haitian immigrants, expressed the distress felt by many in the community who have lost TPS status.
