“Trump Pushes Iran War Agenda Amid Economic Concerns”

In a televised cabinet meeting, President Donald Trump promoted the ongoing war against Iran, emphasizing its minimal impact on the economy and cost of living. The meeting saw Trump and his cabinet members discussing the rationale behind the war, the success of military strikes on Iranian targets, and the potential for negotiating a deal with Iran to halt its nuclear program. Trump asserted the U.S.’s advantageous position in negotiations due to the joint bombing campaign with Israel against Iran, stating that Iran is eager to reach a deal following significant losses.

Steve Witkoff, the White House special envoy to the Middle East, confirmed reports that he presented Iran with a 15-point action list outlining the terms of a potential peace agreement. The objective is to persuade Iran that the current situation leaves them with limited options other than more conflict and casualties. Despite these efforts, Iran has publicly rejected the proposed 15-point plan.

During the meeting, cabinet members praised Trump for his leadership, with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth commending the President’s actions to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran for future generations. Witkoff highlighted Trump’s strategy of “peace through strength” as crucial for achieving a diplomatic resolution.

Regarding the economic impact, oil and gas prices surged, with Brent crude prices rising over 4% and the U.S. national average gas price nearing $4 per gallon since the commencement of the war. Trump attempted to downplay the economic repercussions, claiming that the U.S. is resilient against such effects, despite the observable price hikes. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran significantly contributed to the rise in oil prices.

Trump disclosed that Iran had granted permission for ten oil tankers, including eight from Pakistan, to navigate through the strait, a critical point of leverage for Iran. The President emphasized the importance of reopening the strait and reiterated the opportunity for Iran to negotiate a deal that would permanently halt its nuclear ambitions.

In a social media post, Trump announced a deadline extension for Iran to comply with negotiations, pausing the destruction of energy plants until April 6. The President expressed confidence in the negotiations and warned of dire consequences if Iran fails to engage in productive discussions.
