The Raptors selected Bradley as the 50th overall pick in the NBA draft on Wednesday night. Standing at six-foot-three, Bradley expressed his interest in Toronto’s defensive progress and aims to seamlessly integrate into the team.
During a video conference call following his draft selection, Bradley mentioned his attention to players like Jamal Shead and Scottie Barnes, acknowledging their defensive prowess as crucial in winning games. Shead, drafted 45th in 2024, is seen as a comparable player to Bradley, both excelling in defense and earning the Big 12 Player of the Year award. Bradley played against Shead during their college matchups, admiring Shead’s offensive improvement and looking forward to learning from him.
The 22-year-old Bradley, who played for the Arizona Wildcats, boasted impressive statistics with an average of 13.3 points, 4.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 39 games. His experience in the competitive NCAA Division 1 men’s basketball league has prepared him for the transition to the NBA.
Raptors assistant general manager Dan Tolzman commended Bradley as a seasoned player entering the NBA, emphasizing his success and readiness for the professional league. Toronto also acquired power forward Allen Graves with the 19th overall pick in the first round, adding depth to their roster.
In addition to the draft picks, Toronto plans to explore signing undrafted free agents for potential additions to the team. Tolzman highlighted the ongoing evaluation of available players for summer league and roster spots, indicating a focus on enhancing the team’s competitiveness.
