“Selena Gomez Faces Lawsuit Over Mental Health Startup”

Share

Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors alleging fraud due to her alleged failure to meet obligations in developing and promoting her mental health startup. The investors, who collectively invested close to $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 with a focus on enhancing users’ “mental fitness,” have taken legal action in federal court in Delaware.

According to the lawsuit, investors were led to believe that Gomez, a prominent figure in social media with over 500 million followers, would play a significant role in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. However, the plaintiffs claim that Gomez and other key figures in the company did not fulfill their commitments, such as creating a mobile application.

The lawsuit alleges that Gomez agreed to contractual obligations but failed to follow through, leading to a lack of progress in the company’s operations. The plaintiffs assert that there was a lack of substantial business development and that Wondermind Global fell short in meeting basic responsibilities, such as timely payments to staff and vendors.

Responding to the allegations, a representative for Gomez has not yet provided a comment on the matter. The lawsuit further highlights that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until they were revealed in an online news report in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their initial investments along with legal costs incurred as a result of the dispute.
