“Security Breach: Individual Accesses Plane at Vancouver Airport”

Richmond RCMP reported that an individual “illegally accessed an airplane” at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) early Monday. The person, whose identity remains undisclosed by authorities, has been apprehended and is currently under police custody, as per a statement from Richmond RCMP. Law enforcement officials were called to the airport around 4 a.m. PT on Monday.

According to the Vancouver Airport Authority, the individual managed to enter a secured “apron area” near the terminal by crossing over the fence line. Aprons are designated areas surrounding the terminal where aircraft embark and disembark passengers and cargo, refuel, park overnight, and undergo essential aircraft maintenance, as outlined on the YVR website.

The incident involved a man accessing a plane’s wheel well at Vancouver airport, as depicted in the video footage.
