Justin Bieber made history at the American Music Awards by clinching the title of best male pop artist for the fifth time, setting a new record. Hailing from Stratford, Ontario, Bieber had previously won the award four times, starting back in 2010 when the category was known as favorite pop/rock male artist.

At this year’s ceremony in Las Vegas, Bieber was a nominee in four categories, including artist of the year and album of the year for his work on “Swag.” This recent win brings his total AMA wins to 19, tying him with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-most wins by a male artist. Michael Jackson continues to hold the top spot among male artists with 24 awards.

Justin Bieber returned to the stage last month at Coachella, where he headlined a concert, marking his first major performance since canceling a tour in 2022 due to health issues related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Notable winners of the night also included BTS, who secured the artist of the year award, and Sabrina Carpenter, who emerged victorious in the album of the year category.
