The academy unveiled a new best Asian pop music performance category, recognizing music from K-pop, J-pop, C-pop, and similar genres. Another addition is the best traditional pop vocal performance category, honoring artists whose music stands apart from current pop trends.
Furthermore, a new best Latin song category has been established to acknowledge songwriters contributing to Spanish-language songs. Changes also impact the R&B and folk categories, with the addition of a best R&B collaboration or duo/group performance award and a redefined best contemporary folk album category.
Additionally, modifications have been made to the best new artist category, allowing artists to submit up to four times and expanding the voting eligibility for certain members.
