The FBI is offering a reward of $1 million for information that leads to the capture of a key associate in the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal group, who is believed to have masterminded the killing of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia, in June 2023.
Satinderjeet Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, has been included in the FBI’s most-wanted fugitive list for his alleged involvement in a series of gang-related offenses, including homicides, abductions, extortions, assaults, and drug trafficking. Patrick Grandy, the FBI’s assistant director in charge of the Los Angeles Field Office, stated during a recent press briefing that Brar has been added to the notorious Top 10 list due to his extreme violence and threat to public safety. He emphasized the agency’s commitment to capturing him.
Brar was implicated in a U.S. indictment unveiled this summer as part of a comprehensive transnational probe into racketeering, extortion, and murder by three crime syndicates linked to India. He was charged in July for orchestrating Nijjar’s assassination. Nijjar, a Sikh separatist leader, was gunned down three years ago by masked assailants in the parking lot of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara.
Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had previously suggested that Canadian intelligence connected individuals from the Indian government to Nijjar’s murder, leading to strained diplomatic relations between the two nations. However, New Delhi has consistently denied any involvement.
According to the FBI, Lawrence Bishnoi allegedly manages his expansive criminal empire from prison using illicit cell phones, delegating trusted subordinates to oversee the day-to-day activities of the global network. Brar is purportedly Bishnoi’s right-hand man, responsible for supervising the North American operations.
RCMP Deputy Commissioner Lisa Moreland, speaking at the same news conference, condemned Brar and his associates for perpetrating a range of crimes, including high-profile killings, shootings, threats, extortions, arsons, and drug trafficking. She highlighted the global impact of Brar’s inclusion in the FBI’s wanted list.
The FBI emphasized that Brar is armed, dangerous, and highly violent. Grandy disclosed that Brar is known to frequent California and various regions in Canada.
In 2025, Canada designated the Bishnoi gang as a terrorist organization, citing its intimidation and targeting of diaspora communities.
Individuals with relevant information about Brar are urged to contact the FBI’s tip line at 1-800-225-5324.
Moreland underscored that Brar does not deserve loyalty and urged the public to remain vigilant. She noted that the last Canadian added to the FBI’s list, Ryan Wedding, has since been apprehended.
