The family of Pablo Osorio Sánchez is urging Mexican federal authorities to connect the murder of the 26-year-old engineer with the active inquiry into the January abduction of 10 Canadian mining company employees. Osorio Sánchez was taken in the same town and at a similar time as the armed seizure of Vizsla Silver Corp. workers and contractors. His body was interred in the same hidden graves where nine of the 10 abducted employees were discovered.
The family suspects that insights from the Vizsla Silver abductions could shed light on what happened to Osorio Sánchez. Seeking clarity, Jaime López, Osorio Sánchez’s uncle, expressed the family’s need for answers regarding the circumstances of his kidnapping and the identities of those involved.
The incident occurred on January 23 when armed individuals, believed to be associated with a Sinaloa cartel faction, raided a gated compound in Concordia, Sinaloa, known as La Clementina, where Vizsla Silver personnel were stationed. Osorio Sánchez was last seen that morning walking from his Concordia residence to a bus stop while conversing with his girlfriend, who overheard unfamiliar voices before the call abruptly ended.
Approximately two weeks later, Osorio Sánchez’s body, native to Taxiaco, Oaxaca, was discovered buried alongside other bodies in an unmarked grave labeled “Grave 2” in El Verde village. His body was identified by the tag “Indicio C” during the investigation, revealing fatal gunshot wounds and significant trauma.
The family, devastated by the loss, emphasized the emotional toll of Osorio Sánchez’s untimely death. As investigations continue separately for Osorio Sánchez and the Vizsla Silver workers, questions remain regarding the grave discovery and the identities of those buried with him.
