“Desbiens Shuts Out Vancouver, Montreal Victorious”

Ann-Renee Desbiens made 26 saves to guide the Montreal Victoire to a 1-0 victory over the Vancouver Goldeneyes in the recent Professional Women’s Hockey League match. Desbiens achieved her third career shutout in the PWHL.

The only goal of the game was scored by Nicole Gosling for Montreal, bringing their record to 4-2-0-4 with 16 points. Gosling found the back of the net at 12:17 of the second period, marking her first goal of the season. On the other side, Emerance Maschmeyer turned away 25 shots for Vancouver, whose record now stands at 3-1-1-7 with 12 points.

In another thrilling matchup, the Ottawa Charge secured a 2-1 victory over the Boston Fleet in a shootout. Katerina Mrazova’s shootout goal proved decisive for Ottawa, improving their record to 3-4-0-5 with 17 points. Fanuza Kadirova and Brianne Jenner also contributed goals in the shootout for Ottawa, while Hannah Brandt and Jamie Lee Rattray responded for Boston, who lead the league with a 7-0-2-2 record and 23 points.

Susanna Tapani opened the scoring for Boston with her fourth goal of the season, followed by Jenner’s equalizer, her seventh goal of the season. Aerin Frankel made 17 saves for Boston, while Sanni Ahola stopped 31 shots for Ottawa.

It was an action-packed day in the Professional Women’s Hockey League, with intense matchups and standout performances from the players.
