Céline Dion has released a new single, marking her return to the music scene. The latest track, a gentle and romantic French ballad titled “Dansons,” translates to “Let’s dance” in English. Accompanying the single is a music video filled with romantic scenes set in Paris, showcasing different couples dancing freely in public spaces.

This release comes ahead of Dion’s highly anticipated comeback to the stage with 16 scheduled performances at the Paris La Défense Arena from September 12 to October 17. Speculation about her return began circulating after mysterious signs featuring lyrics from Dion’s popular songs started appearing around Paris, hinting at her imminent comeback.

The song “Dansons,” written by renowned songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman, is Dion’s first French release in over a decade and her first original song in years. Her most recent musical contribution was in 2023 on the soundtrack for the film “Love Again.” Dion and Goldman previously collaborated in 2016 on Dion’s “Encore un soir” and her 1995 album “D’eux,” which remains the best-selling French-language album of all time.

Dion had to cancel her Courage world tour in 2023 due to health issues related to stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that affects a very small percentage of the population. This condition impacted her singing abilities, leading to the tour’s postponement in 2020 as well. Dion made her public singing comeback in July 2024 by performing Edith Piaf’s “Hymn to Love” during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris and later at a fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, honoring designer Elie Saab’s 45-year career.
