“P.E.I. Premier Rob Lantz Conducts Cabinet Shuffle”

Prince Edward Island Premier Rob Lantz conducted a cabinet shuffle at Government House in Charlottetown on Wednesday. The Progressive Conservative government’s changes were livestreamed by CBC P.E.I. from the lieutenant-governor’s residence starting at 2:30 p.m. AT.

Agriculture Minister Bloyce Thompson announced via social media earlier in the day that he would be stepping down from his current portfolio. The executive council’s new lineup includes Thompson as the minister of transportation and infrastructure, justice and public safety, and attorney general.

Other ministerial appointments following the shuffle are Darlene Compton as the minister of land and environment, Ernie Hudson as the minister of fisheries, rural development, and tourism, and Cory Deagle as the minister of health and wellness. Jill Burridge will serve as the minister of finance and affordability, as well as the minister of energy.

Barb Ramsay has been appointed as the minister of social development and seniors, while Jenn Redmond will take on the role of minister of workforce and advanced learning, along with being the minister responsible for the status of women. Zack Bell is now the minister of economic development, trade, and artificial intelligence, as well as the minister responsible for Acadian and francophone affairs.

Furthermore, Robin Croucher is the new minister of education and early years, Kent Dollar is the minister of housing and communities, and Hilton MacLennan is the minister of agriculture.
