Concerns such as rising living costs and paperwork complications for diverse citizenship statuses have also impacted trip planning.
Amid these changes, some schools are opting for domestic trips within Canada as an alternative. The ongoing trade war and citizenship issues further complicate travel arrangements, particularly to the United States. While students like Nyla Ahmadzai are missing out on international trips this year, efforts to fundraise for canceled excursions have left many feeling frustrated.
Cogger expressed her disappointment but also gratitude for her school’s initiative to organize a run in Jasper National Park as an alternative to the canceled Washington trip. She hoped for a more flexible approach to trip decisions, emphasizing the importance of such experiences in high school life.
