Canada Soccer has extended the contract of men’s head coach Jesse Marsch until the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Marsch expressed his commitment to the team and the country, emphasizing the potential of the Canadian players. The 2030 World Cup, co-hosted by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain, will be the first to span two continents.
Since joining in 2024, the 52-year-old American has played a significant role in transforming the team, promoting players to the senior squad and securing eligibility for others. Canada Soccer CEO Kevin Blue praised Marsch for elevating the team’s competitiveness and identity.
Under Marsch’s leadership, the Canadian national team has achieved a record of 12 wins, 12 draws, and 5 losses, including a notable fourth-place finish at the 2024 Copa América. Canada has scored 37 goals and conceded 23 in the 29 matches overseen by Marsch.
Currently, the team is in Charlotte, N.C., for a pre-tournament training camp. Marsch expressed confidence in the upcoming World Cup squad, highlighting its youth, dynamism, and athleticism. The team will kick off their 2026 World Cup campaign against Bosnia & Herzegovina in Toronto, competing in Group B alongside Qatar and Switzerland.
The expanded 48-team tournament will take place in 16 cities across Canada, the United States, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
