Canada’s Kadriana and Colton Lott have secured medals in the world championship. The couple from Gimli, Manitoba, achieved a convincing 11-3 win over Italy’s Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner in Geneva, claiming the bronze at the world mixed doubles curling championship. This victory marked Canada’s first medal at the world championship since 2019. Colton Lott also earned his second international medal of the 2025-26 season, having previously won silver last month as part of Team Matt Dunstone at the men’s worlds.

Expressing her joy, Kadriana Lott, who earned her inaugural world medal, emphasized the significance of sharing these experiences as a couple on the global stage. She stated, “To share this together, to go on world stages to different parts of the world, it’s something we want to continue, and we’ll cherish these moments forever throughout our lives. Just super proud of us, and I’m happy to have that medal around our necks and happy to be standing at the podium at the end of this week.”

Despite a loss to Sweden in the semifinals, Canada capitalized on scoring opportunities, securing two four-enders and one three-ender. Canada’s precision shooting, with an accuracy of 89%, outperformed Italy’s 65%. The turning point came early in the game when Italy’s draw fell short in the first end, allowing Canada to take the lead by scoring four.

Colton Lott highlighted the importance of gaining momentum early on, stating, “It gives us all the momentum going forward, right from the get-go. Especially after that first end, we could really tell that they weren’t quite on their game, and as long as we kept applying pressure, tried to make them make really precise shots, we were going to get mistakes, and for the most part, we capitalized on that and just kept bending all the way through.”

The critical moment arrived in the sixth end when Canada utilized their power play to secure four points, leading to the Italians conceding the final two ends of the competition. In the gold-medal game, Australia’s Tahli Gill and Dean Hewitt defeated Sweden’s Therese Westman and Robin Ahlberg with a score of 8-4.
