Niagara Falls is set to be the final destination on an upcoming nationwide tour celebrating the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Canada Celebrates Tour will traverse the country, making stops in 34 communities designated to host various events, including live game viewings, musical performances, and culinary offerings. FIFA’s objective with this tour is to unite soccer enthusiasts, fostering a sense of national pride and camaraderie through the sport.

The tour, announced by FIFA last week, is scheduled to commence on June 1 and continue until the conclusion of the tournament, culminating in the championship match in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19. It will consist of two segments, visiting communities in all provinces and one territory, before concluding with two-day festivities in Niagara Falls and Brampton, Ontario.

Vittorio Montagliani, FIFA Vice-President and Concacaf President, expressed the significance of bringing a glimpse of the FIFA World Cup 2026 to communities nationwide, ensuring that Canadian residents can partake in this historic occasion. Montagliani emphasized the legacy the tournament will leave for soccer in Canada, aiming to inspire future generations and cultivate the sport’s growth for years to come.

Toronto and Vancouver are among the 16 cities in Canada, the United States, and Mexico selected to host a total of 104 matches during the expanded 48-team tournament. FIFA plans to release further details on the specific events in each community at a later date.

The FIFA trophy tour commenced with a grand unveiling event in Vancouver last week, showcasing the prestigious trophy typically housed at the FIFA Museum in Zurich. The trophy will journey across the country, stopping in cities like Calgary, Winnipeg, Montreal, Halifax, Ottawa, and Toronto before arriving in Niagara Falls and Brampton by May 26.
