Taylor Swift has emerged as the leading artist on Spotify’s inaugural list of the most streamed artists of all time, as revealed on Thursday. Following closely behind is Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican sensation. Bad Bunny claimed the title of Spotify’s most played artist of 2025, marking the fourth time he has achieved this feat and dethroning Taylor Swift in the process.

The battle for the top spot between Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny has been ongoing, with Taylor Swift reigning supreme in the previous two years and Bad Bunny taking the lead from 2020 to 2023. Other prominent artists on Spotify’s list of most streamed artists include Drake in third place, followed by The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Eminem, Kanye West, Travis Scott, BTS, Post Malone, Bruno Mars, J Balvin, Rihanna, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Juice WRLD.

Spotify did not disclose its data collection methods when queried by The Associated Press. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Spotify has compiled lists of its most streamed albums, songs, podcasts, and audiobooks. Streaming plays a significant role in the music industry, accounting for 82% of revenue in the United States, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

Founded in April 2006, Spotify, headquartered in Sweden, is the largest music platform globally, with over 751 million users and 290 million subscribers across more than 184 markets, claiming over 31% of the total market share.

Among Spotify’s most streamed albums of all time are “Un Verano Sin Ti” by Bad Bunny, “Starboy” by The Weeknd, “÷ (Deluxe)” by Ed Sheeran, “SOUR” by Olivia Rodrigo, and “After Hours” by The Weeknd. The most streamed songs on Spotify include hits like “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd, “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran, “Sweater Weather” by The Neighbourhood, and “Starboy” by The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk.
