U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed to consider joining Trump’s Board of Peace initiative, designed to address global conflicts. Trump made the statement at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, following a meeting with NATO chief Mark Rutte.
Following Trump’s announcement, Putin informed the Russian security council that the foreign ministry was still reviewing the proposal and would provide a response in due time. Trump defended his decision to invite Russia to the board, emphasizing the importance of involving all nations, particularly those led by influential figures.
“I have some controversial individuals on board, but they are effective and possess significant influence,” Trump stated.
