Tegan Quin, part of the music duo Tegan and Sara, has contributed to the Marvel Comics pride special one-shot, “Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron #1,” set to be released on May 27. The comic showcases the beloved gay couple Wiccan and Hulkling, emphasizing the significance of community and connections during challenging periods.

Quin’s narrative, brought to life by artist Luciano Vecchio, revolves around twins Wiccan and Speed uniting to combat Ultron while navigating their distinct paths as siblings. “Being a twin myself, I couldn’t have been more thrilled to write for Wiccan and Speed in the Marvel Universe,” expressed Quin in a statement on Marvel’s website. She added, “Debuting with this story at Marvel is not only exciting but truly magical. Plus, handling Ultrons felt oddly satisfying, reminiscent of encounters I’ve had in the music industry over the years.”

Apart from Quin, the comic also features contributions from writers Wyatt Kennedy, Josh Trujillo, and Zoe Tunnell, along with artists Rachael Stott, Bradley Clayton, and Stephen Byrne. Based in Vancouver, Quin is also advocating for Loghan Paylor’s novel “The Cure for Drowning” on Canada Reads 2026.

Canada Reads involves five Canadian celebrities selecting a book they believe the nation should read, engaging in debates over four days to eliminate one book each day until a winner emerges. This year’s event is scheduled for April 13 to 16.

Throughout Quin’s career, she and her sister have produced ten studio albums, including popular tracks like “Closer,” “Where Does The Good Go,” and “Walking with A Ghost.” Their achievements include selling over a million records, earning Juno and GLAAD awards, a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, and nominations for the Polaris Music Prize and the Grammy Awards.

In 2019, the duo transitioned their writing skills from songs to literature with their joint memoir, “High School,” and the middle-grade graphic novel series “Tegan & Sara: Junior High,” illustrated by Tillie Walden. Furthermore, they founded the Tegan and Sara Foundation to provide support and investments in 2SLGBTQ+ communities, leading to them receiving the Humanitarian Award at the 2024 Junos.
