Despite help from family and friends in cleaning up, Lowe is still awaiting financial aid from insurance and the Manitoba Emergency Management Organization, making it tough to balance flood recovery with school expenses.
Superintendent Rob Tomlinson noted that many families in the division are facing similar struggles post-flooding, with some still dealing with the cleanup process. While Minitonas School and Swan River South School were fortunately spared from flooding, many students and staff members’ homes were not as fortunate. Tomlinson emphasized the division’s commitment to supporting those in need during this challenging time.

Bus routes are being adjusted to avoid damaged roads, and plans are in place to inform parents ahead of the new school year.
