A recent missile strike carried out by Russia resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals in a village located in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region, as confirmed by Ukrainian authorities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, stating that it occurred at a busy intersection in Pechenihy, Kharkiv region, an area with essential facilities and surrounded by residential buildings. Zelenskyy shared images of the destruction caused by the attack, including damaged buildings, vehicles engulfed in flames, and emergency personnel assisting injured individuals.

The governor of the region, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that 17 people sustained injuries during the strike, while detailing the destruction inflicted on 10 private buildings, a café, a post office, a store, and several vehicles in the village. According to Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office, preliminary information suggests that Russia utilized two small Banderol cruise missiles in the assault.

In response to the Russian aggression, Ukraine launched a significant drone offensive targeting Moscow and its environs with 620 drones. Moscow’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin disclosed that Russian forces successfully downed 180 drones over the region, leading to ongoing operations by emergency services at crash sites. The drones struck various locations, including a warehouse belonging to Russian e-commerce company Wildberries, resulting in minor damages and injuries, including a 10-year-old girl.

Furthermore, several regions under Russian control, such as Crimea, reported intense drone attacks from Ukraine. Power outages were reported in the Crimean peninsula due to the drone strikes, impacting multiple settlements and complicating power supply deliveries in various parts of the region. In response to the drone attacks, Russia warned Britain about the consequences of allegedly supplying drones to Ukraine for attacks on Russian territory.

The Russian embassy in London issued a statement cautioning Britain about its involvement in the conflict, emphasizing potential repercussions for supporting Ukraine against Russia. Despite the allegations, Britain’s Defence Ministry refrained from confirming the use of British-made drones in the attacks. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to assisting Ukraine in defending itself against the ongoing Russian invasion, including the provision of drones as part of a financial aid package.
