Kevin Spacey Settles Sexual Assault Claims with Three Men

Three men who accused actor Kevin Spacey of sexual assault have resolved their civil claims outside of a trial at the High Court in London, according to court documents. The allegations against the Academy Award-winning star spanned from 2000 to 2013, which Spacey has consistently denied.

Scheduled civil trials were halted by Judge Christina Lambert after the parties reached an agreement on the terms of the settlement. The terms of the settlement remain confidential, and no ruling on costs was made by the judge.

The order, dated Friday, was made public on Wednesday. Spacey, who was acquitted on all nine sex-offense charges in the UK, faced a criminal trial in 2023 involving four men. Two of the civil claimants provided testimony during the criminal trial while maintaining their anonymity.

In a separate incident, Spacey successfully defended against a $40 million US civil lawsuit filed by actor Anthony Rapp in New York in 2022. Spacey, known for his roles in acclaimed films such as “Glengarry Glen Ross” and “L.A. Confidential,” faced a setback in his career due to the sexual abuse allegations.

Formerly the artistic director of London’s Old Vic Theatre, Spacey has transitioned to smaller film and stage projects in recent years rather than mainstream Hollywood roles. Despite ongoing legal challenges, Spacey has found work opportunities in the entertainment industry.
