Former federal justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould has announced that she will commence breast cancer treatment. Wilson-Raybould shared the news on social media, revealing that the treatment plan follows a recent surgical procedure.
Expressing her gratitude for the support received, Wilson-Raybould acknowledged the strength she draws from others who have shared their stories of resilience and recovery with her. She specifically thanked her medical team and the B.C. Cancer Agency for their dedicated care.
Encouraging preventative healthcare measures, Wilson-Raybould urged individuals to undergo regular mammograms and screenings for various cancers and illnesses. Notably, Wilson-Raybould served in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal cabinet for three years before resigning and successfully running as an Independent in her Vancouver constituency in 2019.
