Alina Müller contributed a goal and an assist, Shay Maloney also found the net, and the Boston Fleet emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over the Toronto Sceptres in Lowell, Massachusetts on Wednesday night.

Boston’s Aerin Frankel made 21 saves, maintaining the team’s position at the top of the PWHL standings with 26 points this season, while Montreal and Minnesota share the second spot with 19 points each.

Toronto’s Emma Maltais scored a late goal, but it was not enough to break their losing streak of four consecutive games.

In a tightly contested first period with Boston registering 11 shots and the Sceptres with nine, it was Müller who broke the deadlock just 45 seconds into the second period by redirecting a shot from Haley Winn for her second goal of the season.

Maloney extended Boston’s lead to 2-0 with a goal from her own rebound with 3:06 remaining in the game. Raygan Kirk made 18 saves for the Sceptres.

In the upcoming matches, the Sceptres will host Vancouver on Saturday, while the Fleet will travel to face Seattle on Sunday.
