“Fatal Shooting on GO Transit Bus at Yorkdale”

A fatal shooting incident occurred on a GO Transit bus near Yorkdale Shopping Mall in North York on Sunday night, resulting in the death of a man, as confirmed by Toronto Police. The shooting took place around 7 p.m. near the GO terminal located by Yorkdale Road and the William R. Allen Road ramp.

Following the incident, all passengers and GO staff were safely evacuated from the bus, according to a statement issued by Metrolinx media relations. Both police and EMS personnel are present at the scene to manage the situation.

In response to the incident, bus services to Yorkdale GO have been temporarily suspended. Alternative boarding options are available at the York Mills terminal, as stated by Metrolinx. Detectives from the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit, led by Det.-Sgt. Jason Davis, have made an arrest in connection with the shooting and have confiscated a firearm.

The investigation has been taken over by the TPS homicide unit. Metrolinx has advised passengers feeling unsafe on public transportation to utilize the emergency yellow strip or text “HELP” to 77777 for immediate assistance. Additionally, the company mentioned the deployment of special constables and customer protection officers on trains, stations, and platforms to provide continuous support to passengers.
