This decision came after Macklemore was removed from Ed Sheeran’s U.S. tour due to his pro-Palestinian statements during a performance.
In a recent Instagram post, Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Accurso, urged other affluent white celebrities to follow suit and raise their voices against the ongoing crisis in Gaza. She emphasized the need to protect the children and uphold human rights, citing the tragic loss of over 20,000 Palestinian children’s lives.
Having a substantial YouTube following of more than 21 million subscribers, Ms. Rachel became a global ambassador for PCRF in September last year. She has consistently advocated for the well-being and rights of children in Gaza, using her platform to shed light on the humanitarian challenges in the region.
Macklemore, whose actual name is Benjamin Haggerty, expressed his admiration for Ms. Rachel’s initiative with a heartfelt comment on her post. He recently declared on Instagram his decision to donate his entire $1-million earnings from the tour to six organizations supporting the Palestinian cause.
