A series of Russian missile and drone attacks in the vicinity of Ukraine’s capital resulted in injuries to at least 16 individuals overnight and during the early hours of Thursday, as disclosed by local authorities. The Kyiv City Military Administration indicated that over 10 locations were targeted in the assaults, with a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy among those harmed, according to a statement released on Telegram.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that 131 Russian aerial targets were either destroyed or subdued during the nighttime offensive. The primary regions under attack were Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa, with strikes recorded at 36 different locations. The engagement featured ballistic and cruise missiles, along with 157 drones and decoys.
The Russian Defence Ministry stated that the military aimed at metallurgical and electronics plants, military-industrial complex factories, energy facilities, and transport sites in the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions. Furthermore, the ministry noted that three bulk carriers and a ferry involved in supplying resources for the Ukrainian military were struck at the Chornomorsk port.
In Odesa, seven individuals, including two children, sustained injuries, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. Damage was inflicted on apartments situated on the 14th through 16th floors of a residential building. Additionally, a private residential structure was destroyed in Odesa, while warehouses, a kindergarten, vehicles, and garages suffered damage at other locations, as detailed in a statement on Telegram by the service.
Across various districts in Kyiv, including Dniprovsky, Solomyansky, and Darnitsky, warehouses, office buildings, residential structures, and vehicles were impacted by the attacks, as reported by local authorities. In the Podilsky district, a non-residential building’s roof was harmed. The Kyiv Regional Administration’s head, Tymur Tkachenko, highlighted that civilian areas and infrastructure in the Obukhiv, Brovary, Fastiv, and Bucha districts were targeted, with 33 sites sustaining damage. Notably, the most extensive destruction was observed in the Brovary and Fastiv districts, where 14 and 10 sites were affected, respectively. The damaged locations encompassed private residences, warehouses, production facilities, and vehicles, with no fatalities or further injuries reported.
