The Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly reached an agreement on a trade involving Kawhi Leonard. The deal is pending a trade call and was first reported by Shams Charania of ESPN. The Raptors have not commented on the trade yet, and CBC Sports has not verified the reports independently.
As per the reported deal, the Clippers would receive Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a 2027 first-round pick swap, and two second-round picks in exchange for Leonard. The trade was delayed due to an NBA investigation into salary-cap circumvention involving Leonard and the Clippers.
The investigation concluded on September 2, with Leonard being fined $700,000 but not facing suspension or contract voiding. During the investigation, Leonard, Ingram, and Dick adhered to NBA rules by participating with their respective new teams informally.
Leonard attended Kyle Lowry’s news conference in July, where Lowry announced his retirement as a Raptor, while Ingram was present at a Clippers summer league game in Las Vegas. Leonard had an impressive season with the Clippers, averaging 27.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.9 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game in the 2025-26 season.
Ingram, who briefly played for Toronto, averaged 21.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists but suffered an injury during the playoffs. Dick’s performance dipped in the 2025-26 season, recording career-low stats.
Leonard played a key role in the Raptors’ 2019 championship victory but left after just one season to join the Clippers. Once the trade is finalized, Leonard is expected to address the media at the Raptors’ media day on September 28.
