Robin Nuber, a photographer from Surrey, British Columbia, had a harrowing experience reminiscent of an action movie when he encountered a man with a knife chasing another individual who sought refuge on the outside of Nuber’s Tesla. Nuber described the incident as surreal, feeling like he was on a movie set but realizing it was a real and dangerous situation.
The photographer was en route to a photo shoot in Redwood Park when he witnessed the assailant pursuing a man with a knife, causing the victim to seek safety by clinging to Nuber’s moving car. Nuber’s video footage captured the dramatic scene as his Tesla reversed to create distance from the attacker while the victim held onto the car’s open back door until he could safely enter the vehicle.
The victim sustained injuries, including a bloody mouth, a gouged eye, and cuts on his arm. Authorities in Surrey reported that a 37-year-old man faced charges of assault with a weapon, criminal harassment, and uttering threats, and he was in custody pending a court appearance.
According to Surrey police, the suspect rammed his Jeep Wrangler into the victim’s Ford pickup truck, prompting the victim to flee as the assailant brandished a knife and gave chase. Fortunately, Nuber provided sanctuary to the victim in his Tesla until law enforcement arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect without further incident.
Nuber recounted the adrenaline-filled moment when the victim sought refuge by clinging to his car and eventually begged to be let inside to escape harm. The suspect abandoned the pursuit, disposed of the knife in the woods, and fled before the authorities arrived. Nuber reflected on the experience as a test of his survival instincts, emphasizing the importance of quick thinking and action in challenging situations.
