With three touchdown passes, Kelly was instrumental in the Argos’ 37-22 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. By securing a 2-1 season series advantage, Toronto now sits four points ahead of Hamilton in the East Division standings, with a game in hand.
“After this win, we are in a favorable position for the playoffs,” Kelly expressed. “Our team displayed unity and strength across all facets of the game, from offense to defense and special teams.”
A pivotal moment came with Lirim Hajrullahu’s nine-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, extending Toronto’s lead to 30-14. Despite Hamilton’s late push, highlighted by Harrison Frost’s touchdown pass to Kurleigh Gittens Jr., Kelly sealed the win with a 21-yard touchdown throw to David Ungerer III.
Reflecting on the game, Kelly emphasized the importance of strategic play and adaptability in the face of challenges posed by Hamilton’s defense. The victory marked Toronto’s 10th road game of the season, with Head Coach Mike Miller crediting the team’s growth and experience in handling tough matchups like the one against Hamilton.
