The exchange included Iran’s ground forces targeting U.S. bases in northern Iraq, claiming to have inflicted casualties on American personnel. Iran alleged that U.S. operatives guided tankers through the closed Strait of Hormuz, resulting in mine explosions. Additionally, Iran reported civilian casualties, including fatalities at a wedding celebration in Sirik, with images showing the aftermath of the incident.
As tensions escalate, both sides have expressed determination to prevail. President Trump reiterated confidence in the U.S. position, while Iran aims to strengthen its position post-conflict, seeking the lifting of sanctions and control over the crucial Strait of Hormuz. Despite prior negotiations that failed, the conflict shows no sign of abating, with both parties holding firm to their objectives.
