Canada concluded the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series on a high note by defeating Japan 20-10 in the final match to clinch the Takasaki championship and secure their second title of the season following their victory in Shanghai in May. The Canadian team, as the top seed, showcased dominance throughout the tournament, securing victories in Pool A, quarterfinal against China with a score of 21-9, and semifinal against Neftchi SOCAR with a score of 22-12. Paige Crozon led the charge with 11 points and eight rebounds against China, while Merissah Russell contributed eight points in the semifinal match.
In the final showdown, Canada took an early lead and maintained control throughout the game, eventually sealing a 20-10 win over Japan to claim the championship title in Takasaki. Russell was honored as the MVP of the tournament in Takasaki, leading in player value (45.3) and drives (12), and ranking second in total points (32) and highlights (17).
Despite their impressive performance, Canada will not progress to the Project Redwings Shanghai Final in September, marking the conclusion of their Women’s Series campaign with a strong finish.
