Phoenix Mercury Dominate Toronto Tempo 101-69

Noemie Brochart and Shay Ciezki both contributed 15 points as the Phoenix Mercury triumphed over the Toronto Tempo with a resounding 101-69 victory on Saturday evening. This win marked the second-largest winning margin for Phoenix in the current season, following their 99-66 win against the Las Vegas Aces in the season opener.

Sami Whitcomb added 14 points, while Marta Suarez and Maddy Westbeld, coming off the bench, scored 13 and 12 points respectively. Lexi Held also chipped in with 11 points for the Mercury (14-26), ending their four-game losing streak.

Alyssa Thomas showcased her playmaking skills by distributing 12 assists, marking the 11th game this season where she recorded 10 or more assists. On the opposing side, Isabelle Harrison posted 16 points and 10 rebounds, Kiki Rice scored 14 points, and Laura Juskaite contributed 10 points for the Tempo, who were coming off a 93-73 defeat against Las Vegas the previous day.

The Tempo (11-29) continue to miss their top scorer Marina Mabrey, who averages 20.8 points per game, due to an ongoing adductor injury, causing her to sit out the last six games.

Phoenix took control early in the game, establishing a 21-8 lead and maintaining their advantage throughout. They finished the first quarter with a 27-17 lead, extending it to 58-35 by halftime. A strong third quarter performance, scoring 30 points, further widened the gap to 88-49 by the end of the third quarter.
