The unveiling of Jonsson as the new Black Panther took place on stage with acclaimed Black Panther franchise director Ryan Coogler, alongside Letitia Wright and Winston Duke. The highly anticipated Black Panther III is slated for release on Dec. 15, 2028.
Expressing gratitude for joining the Marvel family, the 32-year-old actor, known for his roles in Industry, The Long Walk, and Alien: Romulus, emphasized his eagerness to let his performance speak for itself.
Following the tragic passing of Boseman in 2020, speculation arose after the 2022 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hinted at T’Challa having a son. This fueled fan discussions on potential successors, with names like Damson Idris and Letitia Wright circulating.
In a separate development, Ryan Gosling is set to collaborate with director Shawn Levy, with whom he worked on Star Wars: Starfighter, for the movie Ghost Rider. Gosling expressed his long-standing desire to portray the character and greeted Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige during the presentation.
Furthermore, Marvel Studios revealed plans to re-release the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame on Sept. 25 with additional footage connecting it to the forthcoming film Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for release on Dec. 18. The Doomsday trailer hinted at a complex relationship between characters played by Robert Downey Jr., Pedro Pascal, and Vanessa Kirby.
