New dates have been established for the preliminary hearing of Romana Didulo, who refers to herself as the “Queen of Canada.” Didulo faces charges related to breaching an undertaking and intimidating a participant in the justice system following a police operation at a compound in Richmound, Saskatchewan, in September 2025.
Romana Didulo, residing in Richmound with her cult members in a former school for about two years, had her compound raided by the RCMP on September 3, 2025. The location of Richmound is approximately 365 kilometers west of Regina.
Opting for a jury trial, Didulo’s preliminary hearing, initially set for March 2, has been rescheduled to commence on April 13. The delay is partly due to the appointment of the Crown prosecutor, Curtis Wiebe, as a provincial court judge in Prince Albert, necessitating the reassignment of all his cases to new prosecutors.
Pre-trial discussions in Swift Current provincial court on Wednesday led to the rescheduling of Didulo’s preliminary hearing. She is expected back in court on March 4 for further pre-trial discussions. Alongside Didulo, Ricky Manz, the former school owner, also faces charges of failing to comply with an undertaking and intimidating a justice system participant, as well as assault, resisting arrest, and uttering threats from an incident in July 2025.
Out of the 16 individuals arrested in September, charges against three for obstruction, stemming from their refusal to provide names to the police, were stayed by the Crown on February 3.
