CBS Media Ventures unveiled a trailer for “Adam’s Law,” a fresh syndicated daytime courtroom series featuring Adam Levy, the 58-year-old son of the renowned Judge Judy. Fans of Judge Judy’s sharp wit and zero-tolerance approach can rejoice, as the trailer showcases Levy embodying a similar courtroom demeanor, delivering sharp and witty remarks that echo his famous mother’s style.
Interestingly, Judge Judy initially had reservations about passing on the judicial torch. In the trailer, she humorously admits that she wouldn’t have encouraged her son to take on the show years earlier because she wasn’t ready to step down. With a laugh, the 83-year-old star of “Judge Judy” acknowledged her son’s talent, albeit begrudgingly, stating, “I think he has the talent to beat me — and I don’t like the idea of that.”
Scheduled to debut on September 14, “Adam’s Law” is executive produced by Judge Judy herself. This new series comes after the successful 25-season run of the original “Judge Judy” show, which captivated audiences with its real cases and final rulings. Levy, with over 25 years of legal experience, including serving as a district attorney and teaching trial advocacy, emphasizes the importance of honesty for litigants appearing on “Adam’s Law.”
Judge Judy is confident in her son’s abilities to carry on the family legacy and believes his show will rise to the top in daytime television. With Levy’s legal expertise and engaging personality, she foresees him captivating audiences much like she has for three decades. Not a stranger to courtroom reality TV, Levy has previously presided as a judge on shows like “Tribunal Justice” and “Justice on Trial.”
“Adam’s Law” will be broadcast on various CBS-owned stations in the U.S., including CBS LA and WCBS-TV, as well as on Citytv and Citytv+ in Canada, starting September 14.
