Inter Miami CF, the reigning Major League Soccer champions, have officially inked a deal with Canadian goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair for the upcoming season. The agreement, disclosed on Sunday, also includes an option for the 2027 sprint season, aligning with MLS’s transition to a summer-to-spring calendar.

St. Clair, who clinched the MLS goalkeeper of the year title last season with Minnesota United, topped the league with an impressive 77.93 save percentage. Moreover, he achieved personal bests in saves (113) and shutouts (10) during that season.

The 28-year-old hailing from Pickering, Ontario bid farewell to Minnesota fans in December following the expiration of his contract, amidst reports linking him to Miami. Last season, Argentina’s Oscar Ustari started 25 regular-season games for Miami, while American Rocco Rios Novo started the remaining nine matches.

St. Clair’s journey began when he was selected seventh overall by Minnesota in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft from the University of Maryland. Standing at six-foot-three and weighing 193 pounds, the talented goalkeeper has represented Canada in 18 international matches.
