British comedian Russell Brand entered a not guilty plea on Tuesday to fresh charges of rape and sexual assault. These new allegations, dating back to 2009, were presented at Southwark Crown Court. Brand, who is already facing charges related to four women, including two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault from incidents between 1999 and 2005 in Bournemouth and London, denied the latest accusations. His trial, set for June and anticipated to last four to five weeks, will have a hearing next month to determine if the recent charges will be consolidated with the existing case. Brand’s attorney requested more time to address the new offenses.

Appearing at the court sporting a white cowboy hat and sunglasses, Brand, who disclosed his Christian faith in 2024, expressed feeling “blessed” when asked about his well-being. Known for his vibrant style and work as a radio presenter for the BBC, the former regular on British television screens in the 2000s transitioned to online platforms, where he gained a substantial following by sharing videos on wellness, conspiracy theories, and discussions about his religious beliefs. Brand, famous for his edgy standup comedy and roles in films like “Get Him To The Greek,” has faced personal battles with substance abuse and retreated from mainstream media in recent years.
