Anna Bargman netted her first PWHL goal, while Kristyna Kaltounkova sealed the victory for the New York Sirens in a thrilling 4-3 triumph over the Montreal Victoire in Newark, N.J. Bargman’s goal came late in the initial period, leveling the score after Laura Stacey opened the scoring for Montreal just under four minutes into the game. The rookie, a fifth-round pick from Yale, where she ranks fourth in all-time goals, notched her first PWHL point in the previous match against the Goldeneyes.

Kristin O’Neill added her second goal of the season for New York (5-0-0-5) in the second period, only for Marie-Philip Poulin to respond with a power play goal for the Victoire. Kaltounkova extended her scoring streak to four games, giving the Sirens a 3-2 lead.

Paetyn Levis capitalized on a Sarah Fillier pass to extend New York’s lead in the third period. Montreal (3-0-1-4) pulled their goaltender in the dying minutes, resulting in Natalie Mlynkova deflecting Abby Roque’s shot into the net with 24 seconds left. However, time ran out for Montreal to find an equalizer.

Sirens’ goalie Kayle Osborne made a career-best 42 saves, while Abstreiter of the Victoire stopped 17 shots.

In their upcoming fixtures, the Victoire will host Minnesota on Sunday, while the Sirens will travel to face Toronto on January 6.
